Mock PTE

Bueno, ya que vimos Deadlock, también me gustaría dejarles algunas páginas en donde se puede practicar para el mock del PTE (el examen internacional que se da en 2do año).

El PTE es un examen internacional que la gente da para probar sus habilidades en inglés. Este examen es rendido por la gente que lo necesita para el trabajo, para entrar a las universidades, para obtener la visa, para desarrollar el inglés que será utilizado si se quiere vivir en el extranjero, o simplemente para mejorar su propio inglés.

El examen tiene 3 niveles y, como mucha gente afirma, una de las partes más complicadas del PTE es la parte donde hay que escuchar y completar (Listening) . Para poder mejorar su rendimiento, en mi opinión, hay que acostumbrar el oído al inglés; esto se puede hacer en la vida cotidiana: escuchar canciones en inglés y tratar de entender lo que dice o ver películas sin subtítulo.

Deadlock: Personajes

Ya que en clase estamos por terminar este libro y, la mayoría, no entiende quién es quién, les haré una lista de los personakes que aparecen y el rol que cumplen en esta novela (lo voy a escribir en inglés, si hay alguna duda, hablenme o lo que sea).

Deadlock: Characters

• Vic Warshawski: Protagonist of this story. She's a detective. In addition, she was Boom Boom's cousin. 

• Boom Boom: Ex-hockey player from the Black Hawks. He has been murdered.

• Clayton Phillips: vice-president of the Eudora Grain Company. He has been killed.

• Janet: Boom Boom's secretary 

• Bobby Mallory: a policeman

• Niels Grafalk: owner of the Grafalk Steamship Line 

• Murray Ryerson: a newspaper reporter

• Paige Harrington: a ballet dancer and Boom Boom's "girlfriend"

• Martin Bledsoe: owner the Pole Star Line 

• Pierre Bouchard: ice hockey player from the Black Hawks and Boom Boom's best friend

• Howard Mattingly: ice hockey player from the Black Hawks. He has been murdered

• Jeannine Carrington/Mrs Phillips: Mr. Phillips' wife and Paige Carrington's sister

• Captain Bemis: Lucella (it's a ship)'s captain 

• Mike Sheridan: Lucella's chief engineer

Phrasal Verbs- Ingles

Los phrasal verbs son combinaciones de una palabra y una preposicion: palabras que juntas tienen nun significado que solas  (sin la compañia de la ltra) no tendrian.
